Science: NASA released pictures of large asteroids passing near Earth

Science: Last week, Earth had a rare event: not one, but two large asteroids flew past our planet. Neither 2024 MK nor 2011 UL21, as the asteroids are named, came close enough to pose a threat , but both were within range of radar imaging systems. So NASA took some nice pictures to mark the occasion. These are more than just souvenirs of asteroid flybys. Scientists can study the images to understand the properties of rocks found around Earth — information that could help us plan strategies for any future asteroids that could one day threaten our planet.
