Israel ramped up its attacks against the Hezbollah in Lebanon this week — killing several high-ranking officials including its overall leader Hassan Nasrallah. Tel Aviv said it had struck “dozens” of fresh targets on Sunday and announced the death of yet another high-ranking official – Nabil Kaouk. Kaouk was a veteran member of Hezbollah going back to the 1980s and currently the deputy head of the Hezbollah Central Council. He had previously served as the group’s military commander in southern Lebanon. The United States had announced sanctions against him in 2020.
