Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government on Saturday announced that it would enhance the monthly honorarium of the 55 Padma award recipients of the state, who are still alive, from ₹25,000 to ₹30,000. A statement from the chief minister’s office said ₹2 crore would be spent on remuneration to the 55 Padma awardees. Early this year, then chief minister Naveen Patnaik had announced ₹25,000 monthly honorarium to the Padma awardees.
