Sanjay Malhotra, the governor of the Reserve Bank of India (RBI), stated on Wednesday that despite his name being Sanjay, he is "not the Mahabharat's Sanjay who can predict future rate actions" and what level of moderations will end in the face of global uncertainty brought on by US tariffs and other complications.

Sanjay Malhotra was answering a question about whether additional interest rate reduction was imminent during a press briefing. This was immediately following the RBI Governor's announcement of a second straight repo rate decrease. According to Mahabharat, Sanjay had a divine vision and used it to blind King Dhritrashtra at his palace by relaying events from the Kurukshetra battlefield.

Sanjay Malhotra added that fiscal and monetary policy are working together to achieve the growth-inflation goals. "Where it will reach... we really don't know," the RBI Governor continued. I'm Sanjay, but I'm not Mahabharat's Sanjay to have so much foresight. I lack the supernatural vision he possessed.
