Boy hangs self in Uttar Pradesh's Bijnor after being scolded for skipping school

According to authorities on Thursday, an 11-year-old kid in the Bijnor district of Uttar Pradesh allegedly killed himself after receiving a reprimand from his father for skipping school. The incident happened at Mohalla Milkian on Wednesday when Nisar chastised his son Shadan for his repeated absences from school, according to Kiratpur Station House Officer (SHO) Virendra Kumar.

After receiving a reprimand, Shadan departed the house. His body was discovered hanging from a hook on a wall in a neighboring unoccupied plot later that evening after the family sought for him when he failed to return," the SHO stated.

According to the police, the body has been sent for a post-mortem, and an investigation is still in progress.
