After the esteemed university rejected calls to accept outside political oversight, US President Donald Trump referred to Harvard as a "joke" on Wednesday and warned it should lose its government research contracts. As US media reported that officials were considering rescinding the university's tax-exempt status, Trump's administration reportedly threatened to prohibit the renowned seat of learning from accepting international students unless it complied with the conditions.
Trump stated on his Truth Social platform that Harvard "can no longer be considered even a decent place of learning and should not be considered on any list of the World's Great Universities or Colleges." "Harvard is a JOKE, teaches Hate and Stupidity, and should no longer receive Federal Funds."
Trump ordered the freezing of $2.2 billion in federal money to Harvard this week, expressing his rage at the illustrious university for refusing to allow government oversight of its admissions, hiring practices, and political bent.
