According to officials, 31 students from various educational institutions were admitted to a government hospital in Nanded, Maharashtra, early on Thursday in a suspected incidence of food poisoning after becoming ill after eating "pani puri" from a roadside stand. According to them, the impacted students are from three city-based educational establishments: SGGS College, Swami Ramanand Teerth Marathwada University, and a nursing college.
After they began visiting the medical facility complaining of nausea, vomiting, and uneasiness after consuming "pani puri" at a single stall, thirty-one students were admitted to Dr. Shankarrao Chavan Government Medical College and Hospital at four in the morning, according to a hospital official.
He added that the pupils' condition was stable and that they had been admitted to different hospital wards for treatment following their medical evaluation. Known as 'golgappa' in northern India, pani puri is a widespread street food.
