The 17-month-old grandson of Infosys co-founder Narayana Murthy, Ekagrah Rohan Murty, is expected to receive ₹3.3 crore as part of the company's dividend announcement. Infosys declared a final dividend of ₹22 per share on Thursday. The son of Rohan Murthy and Aparna Krishnan, Ekagrah Rohan Murty, owns 15 lakh Infosys shares, or 0.04% of the company.
When he was four months old, Narayana Murthy gave him these shares. The shares were worth more than ₹240 crore at the time. Ekagrah is among the youngest billionaires in India. In addition to Ekagrah, Mint reports that Akshata Murthy, the daughter of Narayana Murthy, who holds 3.89 lakh shares of the business (or 1.04% shareholding) as of the December 2024 quarter, will get an incredible ₹85.71 crore from the Infosys dividend announcement. While his wife, Sudha Murty, would receive ₹76 crore in dividends, Narayana Murthy himself is expected to earn ₹33.3 crore.
The IT behemoth Infosys announced a consolidated net profit of Rs. 7,033 crores on Thursday, which represents an 11.7% decrease for the March quarter. In the previous year, it reported a profit of ₹7,969 crore, which was attributed to the company's shareholders. However, after increasing it to 4.5-5 percent from 3.75-4.50 percent, it has surpassed its guidance for the entire fiscal year.
