US offers to ease sanctions on Russia, proposes terms to end Ukraine war: Report

According to reports, as part of a proposal to facilitate a peace agreement between Russia and Ukraine, the US has offered to lift sanctions on Moscow. The plan reportedly includes an outline of terms to put an end to the fighting, according to a Bloomberg report. If there is a sustained truce, the sanctions might be loosened.
US Secretary of State Marco Rubio hinted Friday that the Trump administration is ready to "move on" from its peace efforts unless progress is made, coinciding with the reinvigorated push to end the war. On the same day, however, US Vice President JD Vance declared in Rome that he was "optimistic" about the likelihood of ending the conflict.
According to the individuals cited in the Bloomberg report, the US plan's general outline was discussed during meetings in Paris on Thursday. The status quo would be preserved under the plan mentioned in the study.
