Delhi, A Delhi court sentenced a man to harsh life in prison for raping and impregnating a 16-year-old girl, saying it is "very scary" to live in a culture where children are in danger and "preyed on" by individuals who resemble "vultures." The arguments for sentence against the 45-year-old man found guilty under Section 6 of the POCSO Act and the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita rape provisions were being heard by Additional Sessions Judge Babita Puniya.
"It is very scary that we live in a society where children are not safe and people like the convict keep an eye on them like vultures to quench their lust," the judge stated. According to the prosecution, the girl gave birth in February after the defendant sexually assaulted her on multiple occasions for more than a year, ending in January 2025.
The court stated in an order dated April 16 that the convicted individual had exploited a defenseless and defenseless girl kid in order to satisfy his need. At her young age, the victim endured the agonies of childbirth after he repeatedly made her the object of his lust and got her pregnant.
