Infosys fires 240 more trainees for ‘failure’ to clear internal assessment tests: Report

According to The Times of India on Saturday, which cited official emails written on April 18, IT giant Infosys has fired over 240 additional trainees for allegedly failing the company's internal assessment tests. This comes after it was revealed last month that more than 40 trainees had been let go for identical reasons.
The most recent round of layoffs follows Infosys's months-long layoff of some 350 trainees from its Karnataka campus in Mysuru. According to reports, these trainees had lengthy onboarding delays and were hired after more than two and a half years of waiting.
"You have not met the qualifying criteria in the 'Generic foundation training program' despite the additional preparation time, doubt-clearing sessions, several mock assessments, and three attempts," the termination emails, as reported by the Times of India, said. Consequently, you will be unable to proceed with the apprenticeship program.
