Aadit Palicha has nothing but admiration for Indian talent. The CEO of Zepto, based in Mumbai, recently spoke with his counterpart at Y Combinator on everything from his startup's inception to India's rapidly changing quick commerce landscape. When Y Combinator CEO Garry Tan asked him about the particular benefits and challenges of launching a firm in India, Palicha cited the country's talent pool as a significant asset in his entrepreneurial endeavor.
Aadit Palicha and Kaivalya Vohra, both Stanford computer science dropouts, founded Zepto in 2021. What started as a concept in a WhatsApp group has grown into one of India's most popular grocery delivery applications, with over 3,000 employees.
Palicha discussed the advantages of establishing a startup in India, saying, "I believe the talent is great. I didn't realize it at first, but we interviewed American engineers, who are excellent, but we said, "Hey, the guys we have here are just as good."
