Maharashtra Anthem To Be Sung in All Schools, Says Education Minister

According to Mumbai's School Education Minister Dada Bhuse, all schools in the state should sing the state hymn 'Jai Jai Maharashtra Majha' following the national anthem. The song was adopted as the state song on February 19, 2023, to commemorate Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj's birth anniversary.

"Maharashtra Geet 'Garja Maharashtra Majha' should be sung in all medium schools after the national anthem," Mr. Bhuse advised reporters.

One of the most famous Marathi songs, 'Jai Jai Maharashtra Majha, Garja Maharashtra Majha', which means 'Glory to Maharashtra', was written by Raja Badhe and performed by balladeer Krishnarao Sable, better known as Shaheer Sable.
