Google unlocks Veo 2 and smarter Gemini Live, as focus shifts to boosting AI adoption

Google is rolling out a slew of new features for Gemini users in India, as well as releasing groundbreaking statistics on AI use in the nation. It is a two-pronged approach to new features that incorporates artificial intelligence (AI) video generating capabilities within Gemini, as well as an AI agent's ability to understand worldly context whether a user grants access to the phone's camera or shares what is on the phone's screen.
This, Google hopes, will increase Gemini's relevance by adding to its arsenal of capabilities, which already includes tight interaction with Android phones, Google's Workspace, and AI Overviews in Search. There is also a spectrum of competition. In just a few weeks, there has been significant progress in terms of AI models discovering new potential capabilities, though much of the discussion has remained focused on potential and possible purpose.
OpenAI's o3 and o4-mini, xAI's Studio for Grok, Anthropic's Claude adding a Research envelope, and Microsoft's Copilot Vision for the Edge web browser are all examples of quick evolution with users in mind. The January release of Chinese AI DeepSeek may have served as a catalyst. Their claim to fame was that they rewrote the rules for constructing an economical AI model.
