Live updates on the Pahalgam terror assault. Protests have broken out outside Pakistani embassies in Nepal, the United Kingdom, and Australia as tensions between India and Pakistan rise following the terrorist incident in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir. After 26 civilians were killed in the Pahalgam incident, India revoked all types of visas awarded to Pakistani citizens, save long-term, diplomatic, and official visas, with immediate effect on April 27.

At the same time, citing ongoing cross-border terrorism from Pakistan, they temporarily terminated the Indus Waters Treaty, a water and intelligence-sharing arrangement between the two countries.

Pakistan has also responded by blocking its airspace to Indian flights and suspending all commerce. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif stated on Saturday that his military forces are "prepared to defend the country's sovereignty" in the aftermath of a deadly terror assault in Jammu and Kashmir's Pahalgam district.
