If Apple's manufacturing partners in India can carry this off, it will be nothing short of a triumph. There are reports that Apple aims to relocate production of all US-bound iPhones from China to India entirely. That indicates that over 60 million more iPhones may be manufactured in India, exclusively for the United States, in addition to iPhones presently manufactured here for domestic consumption and export.

Three unique but overlapping components must be assembled. The current iPhone manufacturing capacity in India, with room for increased local consumption as well as an upward export trajectory, investments planned by Apple and their partners Foxconn and Tata Electronics to increase production capacity, and raw material sourcing, for which any production facility still relies heavily on China. Apple has not verified or refuted these exchanges.

According to predictions, India's manufacturing share will range from 10% to 20% by the end of 2024. Apple's total iPhone shipments for the year were 232.1 million. Apple does not provide country-specific manufacturing data. "We estimate that iPhone production in India will reach 43 million units by 2024. According to Navkendar Singh, an analyst with International Data Corporation (IDC) Asia Pacific, they export approximately 32 million of them and sell the remainder in India.
