Centre in talks to phase out pure petrol and diesel vehicles in Delhi-NCR: Report

By gradually phasing out the registration of pure diesel and gasoline vehicles in favor of battery electric vehicles (EVs), hybrids, or CNG versions, the center may be attempting to address the air pollution issue in the National Capital Region (NCR).
The article states that the initial set of limitations would likely go into place in Delhi, followed by five nearby districts, including Gurugram, Gautam Buddh Nagar, and Ghaziabad, and then the remaining NCR districts, even though the cut-off dates have not yet been finalized.
Although some of the limits may begin gradually this fiscal year, the research suggests that the deadline for limiting new vehicles and two-wheelers to solely cleaner fuels could be set between 2030 and 2035. This is due to the fact that commercial vehicles will typically be the first to be affected, with individually owned automobiles and two-wheelers typically coming last.
