Following the filing of a formal complaint against him, a member of the Karnataka Bharatiya Janata Party who committed suicide has blamed his death on state police and Congress leaders. Vinay Somayya, a Karnataka BJP employee from Madekeri, is said to have committed himself on Friday. He accused Congress leaders Tenneera Maheena and MLA AS Ponnanna of harassment by the police in his suicide note.
In response to the accusations made against Congress party employees, Karnataka's home minister stated that the "law is the same for everyone" and that the police will look into the matter.
The BJP MP added, "Despite that, the Congress party continued to misuse the police personnel...we will continue to fight this," adding that they are thinking of calling for a CBI investigation into the issue. We have requested that the legal procedure be followed and that all of the names of the Congress leaders listed be included in the FIR. After the FIR is filed, we will undoubtedly be thinking about our choices. The impartial and free CBI will be taken into consideration.
