PM Modi's veiled attack on MK Stalin in Tamil Nadu: 'Signed off letters in English…where's Tamil pride'

By : Sandhya
In a subtle jab at MK Stalin, the chief minister of Tamil Nadu, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said Sunday that although the UPA government had more funding for the state than the national government, "some people keep crying" over it. He also questioned why the leaders of the DMK signed their letters in English rather than Tamil.
Since 2014, the Modi administration has contributed three times as much to Tamil Nadu's growth as the INDI alliance did during its tenure. The INDI alliance at the time included the DMK. Additionally, Tamil Nadu's railway budget has grown sevenfold. He stated during a public gathering in Tamil Nadu that some people have a tendency to cry uncontrollably and over the same thing.
The statement alluded to the letters that Chief Minister MK Stalin wrote to Prime Minister Modi requesting that the central government give cash for education. A 15-page document that Stalin addressed to the prime minister in 2024 asked for national support for the metro train project in Chennai, the release of monies from the education scheme, and a resolution to the issue of Tamil fisherman being detained by the Sri Lankan navy.
