According to Delhi Education Minister Ashish Sood, the city's deteriorating school structures will soon be rebuilt. After visiting four of these government schools in east Delhi on Tuesday, Sood announced that the pupils will be moving.

Three Sarvodaya Kanya Vidyalayas in Mayur Vihar and Mandawali Phases 1 and 2 as well as a Rajkiya Sarvodaya Sah Vidyalaya in Vinod Nagar were examined by Sood and BJP MLA from Patparganj Ravinder Singh Negi during the visit.

Sood continued, "MLAs of different constituencies have raised concern regarding the condition of government schools which is why we are conducting these inspections." According to him, Negi had asked for the immediate reconstruction of a few of the school structures in his district. "Some of these schools are still operating in buildings that are unsafe," Sood stated. He stated that work on rebuilding these structures will shortly start.
