Delhi Airport continued to disrupt air travel for the second day in a row as growing tensions between India and Pakistan resulted in ongoing airspace restrictions that caused numerous flight cancellations and delays. The attack on Indian towns in Jammu, Punjab, Gujarat, and Rajasthan by Pakistani drones and missiles further escalated tensions between the two neighboring countries. Delhi International Airport has canceled 228 flights in the past two days.

On Friday, 138 flights were canceled, according to airport officials. Five foreign departures, four international arrivals, and sixty-three domestic arrivals were included in this total. On May 8, during the busiest travel hours of 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., over 90 planes were canceled and over 200 were delayed. "Airport operations in Delhi continue as usual. However, some flight schedules and security processing timings may be affected due to changing airspace conditions and increased security procedures, DIAL stated in a post on X on Friday.

The largest and busiest airport in the nation, Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGIA), is run by Delhi International Airport Ltd (DIAL). Additionally, DIAL recommended travelers to cooperate with airline and security personnel for efficient processing and to be ready for extra time at security checkpoints.
