Nearly 50% of Indian employees want to switch jobs, 30% experience daily stress: Gallup report

According to Gallup's State of the Global Workplace 2025 Report, South Asia, which includes Afghanistan, Bangladesh, India, Nepal, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka, has the lowest percentage of thriving employees. This region also has the dubious distinction of having the highest percentage of employees experiencing everyday anger and stress, when compared to other regions such as the United States and Canada, Sub-Saharan Africa, and Europe.
Gallup is multinational analytics and advising firm well-known for its public opinion polls and workplace surveys. The Global Workplace Report is an annual study report that provides insights into how employees throughout the world perceive their job and lives. Employee engagement demonstrates employees' involvement and excitement for their work and workplace.
According to the report, employees can become engaged when their fundamental needs are addressed and they have the opportunity to participate, have a sense of belonging, and gain new skills.
