In the aftermath of the Pahalgam terror incident, Union Home Minister Amit Shah stated Thursday that terrorists should not believe they have won the war. "Terrorists should not believe they've won the war. This fight is not yet ended. "Chun chun ke badla lenge (We will exact revenge on all terrorists)," Shah stated at a ceremony in Delhi. Shah stated that the Narendra Modi-led NDA administration is determined to eradicate terrorism from the country and that this will be accomplished.

"...If someone believes that launching a cowardly attack is a major win, understand that this is the Narendra Modi government, and no one will be spared. "It is our resolve to eradicate terrorism from every inch of this country, and we will succeed," Shah declared. "Not only 140 crore Indians but the whole world is standing with India in this fight, all the countries of the world have come together and are standing with the people of India in this fight against terrorism," according to him.

On April 22, terrorists opened fire in a meadow near the popular tourist resort of Pahalgam in south Kashmir's Anantnag district, killing 26 persons, mostly tourists, and injuring several others. The terror incident was one of the bloodiest in the region since the 2019 Pulwama attack, which claimed the lives of 40 Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel.
