The Indian Navy has increased operations in the Arabian Sea within India's Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ), undertaking massive naval exercises in response to the tragic April 22 terror attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, which killed 26 lives. Indian warships have been placed on high alert and have lately fired multiple anti-ship and anti-aircraft missiles, according to ANI, citing defense sources. These drills are designed to demonstrate the Navy's combat readiness while also deterring possible threats in the face of rising regional tensions.

The Indian Navy reported on Sunday that its vessels successfully launched six long-range anti-ship missiles. The Navy stated that the drills were part of a larger strategy to revalidate operational capabilities and assure the readiness of both personnel and systems for precision offensive attacks.

"Indian Navy ships successfully conducted repeated anti-ship firings to revalidate and demonstrate the preparedness of platforms, systems, and personnel for long-range precision offensive strikes. The Indian Navy is Combat Ready, Credible, and Future Ready to protect the country's maritime interests at any time, anywhere, and in any way," wrote an Indian Navy spokeswoman on X (previously Twitter).
