Juventus kicked off their FIFA Club World Cup 2025 campaign in dominant fashion with a resounding 5-0 victory over Al Ain on Wednesday in Washington, D.C. The Italian giants, looking to redeem a trophyless season after finishing fourth in Serie A, now top Group G, overtaking Manchester City who had earlier defeated Wydad AC.
The match was highlighted by braces from Randal Kolo Muani and Francisco Conceicao. Kolo Muani, currently on loan from Paris Saint-Germain, opened the scoring in the 11th minute with a commanding header off a cross from Alberto Costa. Conceicao, on loan from Porto, doubled the lead ten minutes later after dancing past a defender and scoring via a deflection.
Kenan Yildiz added the third goal in the 31st minute with a sharp low finish at the near post. Kolo Muani then struck again in stoppage time, giving Juventus a 4-0 lead before the break. Though Al Ain had a goal ruled out for offside, Conceicao capped off the scoring in the second half with another deflected finish, sealing Juventus’ commanding win.
Earlier in the day, a Juventus delegation visited the White House, where they met with former U.S. President Donald Trump. During the visit, Trump asked whether a woman could make Juventus’ first team — a question meant to comment on transgender athletes. Juve’s general manager Damien Comolli responded diplomatically, highlighting the club’s strong women’s team.
On the pitch, however, Juventus let their football do the talking. The squad looked sharp, confident, and eager to leave behind a disappointing domestic season. Kolo Muani narrowly missed completing a hat-trick late in the game, while Douglas Luiz came close to adding a sixth.
Juventus will now prepare for their next Group G clash, with momentum firmly on their side and redemption firmly in sight.
