UPSC Pratibha Setu: A New Gateway to Career Opportunities for Deserving Candidates
The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has launched a new initiative called ‘Pratibha Setu’, aimed at helping meritorious candidates who clear all stages of the UPSC competitive examinations but fail to make it to the final merit list.
🔍 What is the 'Pratibha Setu' Scheme?
Under the Pratibha Setu scheme, UPSC will provide verified information of such non-recommended candidates to government ministries, public sector undertakings (PSUs), autonomous bodies, and private organizations. These candidates, though not selected in the final list, are considered equally talented and capable.
The objective is to create a bridge between talent and opportunity, offering a second chance for capable aspirants to shine beyond the exam results.
🧾 What Was It Before?
Earlier, this initiative was known as the Public Disclosure Scheme (PDS). UPSC used to publish lists on its website featuring candidates who had cleared the written exam but were not recommended after the interview.
🛠️ What Has Changed Now?
UPSC will now provide login credentials to verified organizations, allowing them to access the pool of eligible candidates for voluntary hiring.
Private companies can also register on the UPSC portal to access candidate details and initiate their own recruitment processes.
🎯 Who Will Benefit?
Candidates who cleared all stages of the UPSC exam (Prelims, Mains, Interview)
But did not make it to the final merit list
These candidates can now be considered for government, PSU, or private sector roles through this formal platform, giving their hard work and preparation a meaningful opportunity.
