Israel-Iran Ceasefire News LIVE Updates: Speaking at the NATO summit in the Netherlands on Wednesday, US President Donald Trump said that US and Iranian officials are set to hold talks next week, suggesting the conflict may be over. “I’ll tell you what, we’re going to talk with them next week, with Iran. We may sign an agreement, I don’t know, I don’t care if I have an agreement or not. The only thing we would be asking for is what we were asking for before, we want no nuclear.”

Trump rejects intelligence report: Trump has lashed out at the US media after an intelligence report prepared by the Defense Intelligence Agency, the intelligence arm of the Pentagon, got leaked and it stated that American strikes did not damage the core components of Iran’s nuclear programme but has only set it back by months. Earlier, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian fortified Iran’s commitment to the ongoing ceasefire, declaring that the country will not break the truce unless Israel does so first, according to the semi-official Nournews agency. For now, the fragile truce between Israel and Iran is holding.

What has happened till now in Iran? After the US attacked Iran’s nuclear sites with its B-2 bomber on June 22, Iran launched its retaliatory strikes by targeting America’s Al Udeid Air Base in Qatar on Monday night (around 10 pm IST). This triggered closures of air spaces in several gulf countries. Explosions were heard over Doha after Iran reportedly launched six missiles to target the US air base in the region. Iran’s state media has said the ceasefire has been “imposed” on Israel following the “successful” attack by Tehran’s forces in Qatar.
