OnePlus Looks to Undercut Apple and Samsung With New $700 Tablet

Three generations in, OnePlus is still striving to carve out a niche in the crowded tablet market dominated by Apple and Samsung. On Thursday, OnePlus USA Corp. unveiled the OnePlus Pad 3, a slimmed-down version of its premium Android tablet, aiming to undercut the competition with its price and performance.
Launching on July 8, the Pad 3 will retail for $700 in the US and $1,000 in Canada, positioning it between Apple’s 11-inch ($599) and 13-inch ($799) iPad Air models. Despite Android tablets traditionally lagging behind Apple’s iPads in US market share, OnePlus hopes to gain traction with a compelling mix of design and specs.
The OnePlus Pad 3 boasts a thin profile of under 6mm, a 13.2-inch high-resolution display, and a faster Snapdragon 8 Elite chip — the same processor powering top-tier devices like Samsung’s Galaxy S25 Edge. With an emphasis on performance, display quality, and multitasking upgrades, OnePlus is betting that the Pad 3 can attract users looking for a premium experience at a competitive price point.
