**HCA President Arrested in IPL Ticket Scam; CID Probes Forgery, Misuse of Power**
Hyderabad Cricket Association (HCA) President **A. Jagan Mohan Rao** was arrested on Wednesday by the **Telangana Crime Investigation Department (CID)** in connection with an alleged **IPL 2025 ticketing scam**. The high-profile case also saw the detention of four senior HCA officials — **Treasurer C. Srinivas Rao, CEO Sunil Kante, General Secretary Rajender Yadav, and G. Kavita**, the wife of Yadav.
### Allegations of Forgery & Misappropriation
The arrests stem from a complaint filed by **Dharam Gurava Reddy**, General Secretary of the Telangana Cricket Association, on **June 9**. Based on the complaint, CID registered a case under multiple IPC sections including:
* **465** (forgery)
* **468** (forgery for cheating)
* **471** (using forged documents as genuine)
* **403** (dishonest misappropriation of property)
* **409** (criminal breach of trust by a public servant)
* **420** (cheating)
* **34** (common intention)
Rao is accused of submitting forged documents to contest the HCA elections.
### SRH vs HCA: Ticket Quota Controversy
The controversy deepened with claims that HCA officials tried to **pressure IPL team Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH)** into providing more complimentary tickets than permitted. Per the **tripartite agreement** between **HCA, SRH, and BCCI**, the association is allowed **3,900 complimentary tickets** (10% of stadium capacity). However, HCA allegedly demanded **an additional 10%**, which SRH refused.
One incident that escalated tensions was when Rao allegedly **locked a corporate box** just before the SRH vs Lucknow Super Giants match on **March 27**, demanding **20 more passes**. SRH accused HCA of breaching the agreement and even threatened to **shift home matches out of Hyderabad** if the situation persisted.
Talks and Resolution
Efforts to resolve the standoff were made by **HCA Secretary R. Devraj**, who met with SRH representatives and reaffirmed that:
* The allocation of **3,900 complimentary passes** would **remain unchanged**.
* Both sides would adhere to **existing ticket distribution protocols**.
* Future operations would be conducted **professionally and cooperatively**.
In a **joint statement**, HCA and SRH said they were committed to enhancing the **spectator experience** and working together amicably at the **Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium**.
