England captain Ben Stokes broke a steady partnership by dismissing Shardul Thakur, who was brilliantly caught at gully by a diving Ben Duckett.

Earlier, Rishabh Pant showed remarkable grit by returning to bat with a fractured toe, earning a standing ovation. He went on to score a brave 54 off 75 balls before India’s innings wrapped up at 358 on Day 2 of the fourth Test in Manchester (July 24, 2025). Stokes was the standout bowler, finishing with figures of 5 for 72.

India, resuming at 264/4, suffered an early setback as Ravindra Jadeja edged a Jofra Archer outswinger to second slip, where Harry Brook held on to a sharp low catch.

Shardul Thakur (41) and Washington Sundar (27) steadied the innings with a 48-run stand for the sixth wicket against the new ball. However, Stokes struck again, removing Thakur just as the partnership began to blossom.
