RGP Warns Goa University VC Menon Over Domicile Issue

The Revolutionary Goans Party (RGP) has strongly condemned Goa University Vice-Chancellor Dr. Harilal Menon over what it calls an attempt to undermine the state's domicile requirements for university recruitment.
RGP President Manoj Parab alleged that Dr. Menon was planning to bring in faculty from outside Goa while sidelining local talent, and warned that such moves would face severe backlash.
Menon should make such statements in Kerala, where domicile certificates are essential in their universities. Such statements will backfire on him there," Parab said. He also questioned the contradiction between the state government's "Swayampurna Goa" initiative and what he described as efforts by the university to fill posts with outsiders.
Parab further accused the Vice-Chancellor of inefficiency, blaming him for the decline in Goa University's ranking while shifting responsibility onto Goans. He alleged there was a deliberate plan to remove the domicile condition and make Goa University an "all-national university" despite it being funded by the state government.
He also criticised Dr. Menon for allegedly failing to inform local stakeholders about the recent visit of the National Education Council (NEC) team to the university. Parab demanded that Chief Minister Pramod Sawant, who also holds the education portfolio, break his silence and address the concerns raised by Goans over the issue.
