Australia will look to seal the T20I series when they face South Africa in the second match at Marrara Cricket Ground in Darwin on August 12, starting at 2:45 PM IST. The hosts won the first game by 17 runs after a stunning counter-attack from Tim David, who smashed 83 off 52 balls with eight sixes and four fours, lifting Australia from a shaky start to 178 all out. Nineteen-year-old Kwena Maphaka, the youngest pacer from a full member nation to claim a four-wicket haul in T20Is, impressed for South Africa with figures of 4/20.
In the chase, Ryan Rickelton’s 71 off 55 balls kept the visitors in the hunt, but Australia’s bowlers — led by Ben Dwarshuis and Josh Hazlewood with three wickets each — held firm.
For the second T20I, Australia’s squad includes Travis Head, Mitchell Marsh (c), Josh Inglis (wk), Cameron Green, Tim David, Mitchell Owen, Glenn Maxwell, Ben Dwarshuis, Nathan Ellis, Adam Zampa, and Josh Hazlewood. South Africa will field Aiden Markram (c), Ryan Rickelton (wk), Lhuan-dre Pretorius, Dewald Brevis, Tristan Stubbs, George Linde, Senuran Muthusamy, Corbin Bosch, Kagiso Rabada, Kwena Maphaka, and Lungi Ngidi.
In India, the match will be broadcast live on Star Sports channels on August 12 from 2:45 PM IST.
