Pakistan Army Chief Asim Munir has reportedly indicated a potential shift in military strategy by targeting Reliance Industries Limited’s Jamnagar refinery in Gujarat in the event of future conflict with India. According to The Times of India, citing sources from a closed-door dinner in Tampa, Florida, Munir referenced a social media post that combined a Quranic verse with an image of Reliance Industries chairman Mukesh Ambani. He claimed to have authorized the post during recent tensions with India as a warning for future actions.

The Jamnagar refinery is the world’s largest single-site refinery, processing 33 million tonnes of crude oil annually—about 12 percent of India’s total refining capacity—and is a significant exporter of petroleum products. Intelligence agencies have previously raised concerns about threats from Pakistan-based terrorist groups targeting such critical infrastructure, including the RIL refinery.
