Robots race, play football, and crash at China’s Robot Olympics

China has launched the three-day World Humanoid Robot Games, featuring 280 teams from 16 countries competing in sports like track and field, football, and table tennis, as well as tasks such as medicine sorting, material handling, and cleaning. Participants include universities and companies from the U.S., Germany, Brazil, and China, with robots from Chinese firms like Unitree, Fourier Intelligence, and Booster Robotics. German team member Max Polter from Leipzig University’s HTWK Robots squad said they aim to win while also focusing on research.
