A Mumbai Monorail service broke down on Sunday during heavy rainfall, leaving nearly 100 passengers stranded inside the train. The incident occurred between two stations as the city faced intense showers that disrupted normal transport services.
According to officials, the monorail halted due to a technical snag, and emergency response teams were rushed to assist the passengers. Efforts were made to restore power and move the train safely to the nearest station.
Passengers remained stuck inside for over an hour before rescue measures helped them deboard. While no injuries were reported, the breakdown added to the travel chaos already caused by the heavy downpour.
Authorities have said an investigation is underway to determine the cause of the fault and ensure smooth operations during the monsoon season.
