More than 40 voter ID cards were discovered near the residence of Union Minister Virendra Kumar Khatik in Tikamgarh, Madhya Pradesh, raising concerns over possible electoral irregularities.

Local residents reportedly found the discarded identity cards and alerted the authorities. Soon after, election officials and police reached the spot and collected the documents for verification.

Preliminary investigations are underway to determine how the cards ended up near the minister’s residence and whether they were lost, stolen, or deliberately discarded. Officials confirmed that the recovered voter IDs will be cross-verified with the official electoral database to track their authenticity and rightful holders.

The incident has triggered political debate in the region, with opposition parties demanding transparency and accountability in handling voter identity cards. They also urged the Election Commission to conduct a detailed probe into the matter to prevent any misuse during upcoming elections.
