CTUs-SKM, a joint platform of 10 Central Trade Unions and the Samyukt Kisan Morcha, has announced a nationwide protest on August 13, 2025, in response to US President Donald Trump’s tariff threats and the India-UK Comprehensive Economic Trade Agreement (CETA).
In a statement released Monday, the coalition called on workers, farmers, students, and concerned citizens to participate in various protest activities, including tractor and motorcycle rallies, public gatherings, demonstrations, and other forms of dissent organized by allied groups.
The CTUs-SKM also strongly criticized Trump’s recent announcement of a proposed 25% tariff on Indian goods, as well as a punitive tax targeting India’s oil trade with Russia, warning that such moves pose serious risks to India's economic interests.
