Garima Saikia, singer Zubeen Garg's wife, called on people Thursday to come forward and tell the truth about her husband's death and to avoid politicizing it. Five people have been taken into custody since the singer's passing, but "I don't think that they have told the truth," according to Saikia. Every Assamese wants to know why Zubeen Garg died, she added, adding, "I am waiting very patiently."
One day prior to his scheduled performance at the Northeast India Festival, on September 19, the Assamese legend passed away in Singapore. Garima Saikia told reporters on Thursday, "I am still holding fast to the belief that five or six people have been arrested in this matter, but they haven't yet come forth with the truth. I am patiently waiting. The court system and the inquiry team are receiving cooperation from the public. I hope the truth is out quickly.
In addition to urging the witnesses to come forward, she stated that "the truth has not come out even after 21 days." "Those who were eyewitnesses should come forward as it has been 21 days since Zubeen's death. Our heartbeat and our icon are gone. "Politization of this issue is not necessary," she asked. Sandipan Garg, an Assam Police Service (APS) officer who was detained by the Assam Police Criminal Investigation Department's (CID) Special Investigation Team (SIT) in relation to the singer's death, has already been suspended by the Assam government as the case moves forward.
