The India Meteorological Department has warned of rain and thunderstorms in Delhi and the national capital region (NCR) for the next two to three hours during the ongoing Durga Puja and Dussehra festivities. The meteorological service's nowcast indicates that Delhi and Noida are under a yellow alert. The celebrations happening all across the city will probably be hampered by the weather.

Light rain and thunderstorms with lightning are expected across portions of South East Delhi, East Delhi, Shahadara, Central Delhi, North East Delhi, South Delhi, New Delhi, South West Delhi, West Delhi, North West Delhi, and North Delhi, according to the weather alert that IMD tweeted on its X handle.

On Thursday, the humidity in the capital reached a peak of 85. The IMD predicts that the highest temperature will be approximately 33 degrees Celsius, while the minimum will probably be around 26 degrees Celsius. For the past few days, the city has been experiencing rain, which has relieved Delhi residents of the oppressive humidity. During the 24-hour period ending at 8 am on Wednesday, the capital's main meteorological station in Safdarjung recorded 37.8 mm of rainfall.
