The Travancore Devaswom Board declared on Saturday that it would file a request for a thorough probe into all issues pertaining to purported gold-plating violations at Sabarimala with the Kerala High Court. TDB President P S Prasanth told reporters that opposing parties were "exploiting" the matter as a perfect opportunity to attack the Board.

"The High Court will be asked to carry out a comprehensive investigation into claims of misuse by specific individuals in the name of sponsorship, as well as into the purported decline in gold at Sabarimala since 1998, when industrialist Vijay Mallya sponsored the plating of the sanctum sanctorum," he stated. Prasanth claimed that "fake allegations" against Sabarimala had been sparked by the broad support for the recent Global Ayyappa Sangamam.

The TDB would require a thorough investigation spanning the years 1998–2025, he continued, including an examination of variations in gold weight and the involvement of individuals. "Allow the court to conduct a thorough investigation into the issues in Sabarimala between 1998 and 2025," he stated.
