The external affairs ministry announced on Saturday that UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer will travel to India next week to meet with Prime Minister Narendra Modi in order to discuss bilateral relations and advance business and economic ties. In the midst of severe turmoil on the international scene as a result of US administration actions, Starmer will make his first official trip to India on October 8–9.
In accordance with "Vision 2035," a targeted and time-bound 10-year roadmap of programs and activities, the two prime ministers will meet in Mumbai on October 9 to evaluate the status of several facets of the bilateral comprehensive strategic partnership. Trade and investment, defense and security, technology and innovation, energy and climate change, health, education, and people-to-people interactions are some of the main pillars of this strategy.
According to the external affairs ministry, Modi and Starmer will also discuss the prospects offered by the Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement (CETA) as a "central pillar of the future India-UK economic partnership" with companies and industry executives. Modi and Starmer will give keynote speeches at the Global Fintech Fest in Mumbai. They will also interact with entrepreneurs, legislators, and industry professionals.
