Live Updates for the 2025 Bihar Election Date: The schedule for the assembly elections in Bihar is scheduled to be announced by the Election Commission of India (ECI) on Monday. At 4 p.m., the polling agency has scheduled a press conference. On November 22, the 243-member state assembly's term comes to an end. Since many people who work outside the country return home for the celebrations, the political parties had asked the electoral commission to hold elections right after the Chhath festival in order to guarantee higher voter turnout.
The poll date was announced after the Election Commission held a news conference to discuss the new procedures and details that would be used for the eagerly awaited state elections. Gyanesh Kumar, the chief election commissioner, and Election Commissioners Sukhbir Singh Sandhu and Vivek Joshi met with top state officials over the weekend to discuss security plans, logistics, and enforcement readiness in order to guarantee free, fair, and inducement-free elections.
Bihar polling parties urged the Election Commission to guarantee free and open elections throughout the state prior to the announcements. In addition, a single-phase election for Bihar has been demanded by numerous states. "We encouraged the EC to arrange one-phase assembly elections. It is feasible. The state is not experiencing Naxal violence, nor does it have a problem with law and order. Why not have elections here in a single phase, like Maharashtra did? Sanjay Kumar Jha, the working president of JD(U), remarked.
