A lawyer attempted to take off his shoe and throw it at him during court proceedings, prompting Chief Justice of India BR Gavai to retaliate on Monday. The CJI requested that the court proceed with the hearing, stating that such matters do not concern him. "Don't let any of this divert you. We're not preoccupied. He informed the attorneys in the courtroom, "These things don't affect me."

Notably, the incident happened while a bench presided over by the CJI was hearing attorneys' mentions of cases. The attorney went over to the dais, took off his shoe, and attempted to toss it at the judge. But the attack was stopped when the security guards stepped in right away and led him off the court grounds.

"Sanatan ka apman nahi sahenge" (We will not allow any insult to Sanatan) was said by the lawyer as he was being removed. The incident is being investigated by the security of the top court. We're waiting on more information about the attorney and any motivations. The incident occurred just days after CJI BR Gavai caused a huge social media uproar with his comments, in which he rejected a request for instructions to rebuild and reinstall a seven-foot idol of Lord Vishnu at the Javari Temple, which is a part of the UNESCO World Heritage Khajuraho temple complex in Madhya Pradesh.
