A huge fire at Jaipur's Sawai Man Singh (SMS) Hospital on Sunday night claimed the lives of at least seven persons. Relatives of the patients who died have accused the Rajasthan government of safety violations and a lack of equipment to put out the fire that killed seven people, prompting the government to seek an investigation into the tragic event. There was a cylinder next to the spark when it occurred. Everyone in the intensive care unit fled in fear as the smoke spread. My patient was left alone in the room while others were able to save their own. Puran Singh, a patient's relative, stated, "They closed the gates as the gas spread further."
