The final section of Mumbai Metro Line-3, popularly known as the Acqua Line, was opened by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday as part of his two-day visit to Maharashtra. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has officially opened the final 10.99-kilometer section between Acharya Atre Chowk and Cuffe Parade stations, marking the completion of Mumbai's first wholly underground Metro route.
Modi walked through the recently constructed Navi Mumbai International Airport on Wednesday after arriving in Navi Mumbai. In addition to opening the airport, he will also start and dedicate a number of initiatives in Mumbai. A shared mobility app for 11 transport operators, including Mumbai Metro Lines 1, 2A, 7, Aqua Line 3, Monorail, Navi Mumbai Metro, suburban rail, and BEST, would be unveiled by Modi concurrently with the metro debut.
By enabling cashless payments, multimodal route planning, and digital ticketing, the software streamlines commutes and cuts down on lines.
