Police say a woman in Jamui, Bihar, threw acid in a man's face

In Jamui, Bihar, a lady splashed acid on a 23-year-old man's face late Tuesday night, causing severe burn injuries, according to authorities. The man, who is 23 years old and from Islamnagar, visited his hometown a few days ago. He works in Dubai. "After the incident, the accused girl and her family members fled," the police added.

In addition to being neighbors, the victim and the girl have been dating for around four years. Rahman's family acknowledged that he visited Dubai in June 2024 and used to send her money. Police said that she summoned him to her home under false pretenses of a meeting, and when he arrived, she threw acid at him, gravely injuring him.

According to police, he was taken to Jamui District Hospital, where the physician recommended that he be sent to the higher center. "The investigation is being conducted from every possible perspective," stated Amrendra Kumar, the station house officer (SHO). "Police have started a manhunt to arrest the accused and her father after she and her family have been evading justice since the incident," Kumar continued.
