Tejashwi Yadav Unveils ‘Pratigya Pran’ Manifesto
The INDIA bloc on Tuesday launched its Bihar manifesto titled “Bihar Ka Tejashwi Pran”, positioning RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav as the alliance’s chief ministerial candidate and rolling out a packed welfare agenda aimed at reshaping state politics ahead of the November 6 and 11 assembly polls. The manifesto launch in Patna brought together RJD, Congress, the Left parties and the Vikassheel Insaan Party (VIP), and publicly named Mukesh Sahani as the alliance’s deputy chief ministerial face.
Key pledges in the manifesto include a commitment to pass a law within 20 days of taking office to guarantee one government job in each family, the restoration of the Old Pension Scheme (OPS), and the proposed “Mai-Behin Maan Yojana” that promises ₹2,500 per month to women for five years starting December 1. The alliance also vowed to pause implementation of the Waqf (Amendment) Bill and to make Waqf management more welfare-oriented and transparent. These headline promises are designed to mobilise voters around jobs, social security and gender-targeted welfare.
Tejashwi used the manifesto launch to attack the NDA, accusing the BJP of not declaring a CM face and labelling Nitish Kumar a “puppet” within the alliance. He also alleged large-scale deployment of central forces in Bihar and warned about attempts to “steal votes” through slow polling in booths where Mahagathbandhan is strong. The charge adds a law-and-order and electoral-integrity theme to the alliance’s campaign pitch.
