Delhi Air Quality Today
Delhi air quality sharply deteriorated on Thursday morning, November 6, 2025, as several parts of the national capital recorded “very poor” air quality levels. According to the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB), the overall AQI climbed to 264 by early morning, with dense smog blanketing key areas. Jahangirpuri reported an AQI of 284, while ITO touched 295. Mundka and Narela, in North Delhi, recorded alarming readings of 305 and 302 respectively, reflecting severe pollution exposure for residents.
The neighbouring National Capital Region (NCR) also faced pollution challenges. Noida’s Sector 62 logged an AQI of 215 at 5 am, while Ghaziabad’s Sanjay Nagar recorded 265, placing these areas in the “poor” category. Experts caution that prolonged exposure to these levels can aggravate respiratory issues, particularly among children, the elderly, and individuals with pre-existing conditions.
The spike in air pollution follows a temporary improvement in Delhi’s AQI earlier this week. On Wednesday, the 24-hour average AQI had improved to 202 from 291 the previous day, thanks to favourable weather conditions. Key pollutants such as PM10 and PM2.5 had decreased significantly, with PM10 dropping from 260 to 175.2 micrograms per cubic metre and PM2.5 falling from 128.2 to 85.5. Despite this brief respite, Thursday’s readings indicate that the city is once again facing high pollution levels.
