Aaditya Thackeray Drone Surveillance
A significant political row and security concern erupted in Mumbai after a drone was spotted hovering near Matoshree, the heavily guarded residence of Shiv Sena (UBT) leader and former Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray. The incident was brought to public attention by MLA Aaditya Thackeray, who alleged the drone was suspiciously “peeping” into their home in Bandra East before rapidly flying away when noticed. The sighting immediately raised grave privacy concerns and questions regarding the security protocols of the heavily fortified area.
The incident was first flagged by Shiv Sena (UBT) MLC Anil Parab, who demanded a swift and thorough investigation. Given that Matoshree is designated as a high-security zone, the unauthorized or unannounced flying of an aerial vehicle is considered a serious breach of protocol, prompting immediate police involvement and a demand to clarify whether the drone harbored any potential “terrorist background.”
