Male: Two ministers have been arrested by the police for allegedly performing black magic on the President of the Maldives, Mohamed Muizju, local media reported on Thursday. The reports said that the police revealed that Shamnaz Salim, who was serving as the Minister of State for Environment, and Adam Rameez, her ex-husband, the Minister in the Office of the President, along with two others, had been arrested on these charges. However, the police are tight-lipped about these arrests. “Shamnaz and two others were arrested on Sunday and these three were remanded in custody for seven days. On Wednesday, she was removed from the post of environment minister. Also, Rameez was removed from the post of minister on Thursday,” a news portal explained. In the past, Shamnaz and Rameez worked with him as councilors even when Muizju was the mayor of Male City. Neither the Maldives government nor the President’s office has made any official statement on the latest developments.
